Transcription
July 23. 1928. lunched with V. Rienaecker at 40 Stanley Gardens, Hampstead. He has Dawson Turner's copy (sold at D.T. sale in 1857) of Cotman's 25 early etchings. Bound up with it is an original letter from J.S.C. to D.T. dated Nov: 24. 1810 - see card catalogue of Cotman dates. There are 2 [states?] of an unpublished etching, one without sky, the other with 'London. etched & published by J.S. Cotman, June 1810 -' In Mrs D.T's (?) writing in margin is 'Mr Cotman's first etching, never published'.

V.R. has also the watercolour of Sheriff-Hutton Castle - sunset. Exhibited at Norwich in 1830 - illustrated in colour in Walker's catalogue 1923 (?) 12½ x 8
