(7) A study of trees (? Helmsley Woods) pencil & chalk on grey paper – early c. 1804 – 5 – NB both these drawings, which are about 14 x 10, have their angles cut off.
(8) A set of 17 sheets of drawings, about 8 on a sheet, miscellaneous sketches – ‘Study of dock leaves – ‘Kirkstall Abbey July – 1803. Sept -1803’ – Diligence in Normandy. Costumes, landscapes, a study for Brick Kiln (?), shipping, several by Miles – ‘The Dolphin, London Docks. June 25. 1831’ Studies of donkeys – labelled – ‘69’ – watermark of 1820 – N.D.L writes that he found a pencil sketch for his “on the Greta” among these sketches.
