Further time will be required, I suppose, before committees realise that Cotman should be ranked with Constable and Turner in British landscape - and in oils as well as watercolour - but it is satisfactory to note that he is well represented among the Early English Watercolours, together with Bonington, Cozens, and Rowlandson, in addition to the obvious selections.
