    Dear Mr Kitson
    Would you be good enough to tell a customer of mine what you think about the 'St Michael's Mount' drawing which I am posting today. I am sorry to bother you as I hate the thing & have told my customers so. Nevertheless he has asked me to submit it to you.
    What he particularly wants to know is, whether there is a known original Cotman of this subject and where it is.
    The composition is quite different from the Heseltine & Newcastle drawings & personally I cannot help feeling that there is something even more shady about it that [sic] the 'Devil's Bridge'.
