Dear Sir,
I write to thank you for your letter of February 20th. I inherited the pencil sketch evidently referred to as the "Draining Mill". I sold this in September in the sale of pictures and furniture of Side-strand Hall.*
I do not know anything about the other sketch.

I wrote to the auctioneer, who informed me that the Draining Mill was not in the auction sale. Presumably it is still in Sir S Hoares possession.
