    15th November 1935.
    Dear Sir,
We thank you for your letter and in reply to your question, we are unable to state whether Emerald Green was put upon the English market before 1825.
We should very much like to see the J. S. Cotman painting box if you care to send, or if you anticipate being in London very soon we suggest you bring it along then as it might enable us to furnish you with a more detailed report on the colours and medium.
Assuring you of our best services
    Yours faithfully,
James Newman Ltd. [E. F. Chapman] Managing director.
Sidney Kitson Esq. Thornbury House. Kidlington Oxon.
