    {cuttings from report}
    Miss Gladys Tetley sixteen pieces of old Leeds pottery of the best period, 1781-1822. From the Leeds Art Collections Fund, On the Banks of the Yare, an oil painting by J.S. Cotman.

    The Sub-Committee have had to accept, with much regret, the resignation of Mr. S.D. Kitson, a valued member for twenty-four years, who however continues his interest in the Gallery from his retirement in Oxfordshire.

    The application of the Bilborough bequest to the formation of a collection of watercolours illustrating the history of a peculiarly English type of art has, for the first time, provided Leeds Art Gallery with a feature which is of some significance for the student of art. It may even be doubted whether in any other gallery outside London, or possibly Norwich, can the work of that supreme master, Cotman, be seen to such advantage as at Leeds.
